¡¡some telecom equipment from overseas can not communicate with the local
telecom network. The versatile interfaces of SPAS programmable Switch
support the comprehensive standards at lower cost, and help realize
the conversion among R2MF, SS7, ISDN PRA, CAS, Access network V5X signaling.
¡¡Voice codec may be incompatible when the interface of the input is
different from that of the output. Multi-function signal tone board,
in this case, can be used to realize the conversion of the voice codec.
An example is the voice conversion between E1 A LAW and T1 U LAW.

2 Low cost remote multi-point
access
¡¡SPAS programmable Switch can support multi- module remote via E1. Many
types of user interfaces including analog, DDN and FXO/FXS users can
be attached to the remote modules with the adoption of SPAS-2000 SAS
. SPAS provides accesses of signals externally through SPAS-2000 DTS
and is adaptable for multi-point access networking at lower cost.

3 Virtual operator
intelligent routing
¡¡One IP telephone operator may have many partners globally, which may
provide different services. In order to save costs and improve the quality
of the services, IP telecom operators need to select intelligent call
routing based on the time, rate, quality and the success rate. SPAS
programmable Switch provides the programming interface for developing
application level software using computers to help realize many advanced
functions. Intelligent routing is one of the simple functions. SPAS
may connect with IVR via E1 and many types of gateways at the same time,
SPAS used for tandem.

4 CallCenter application
¡¡SPAS programmable Switch supports CTI programming interface and can
be used as the central ACD in the CallCenter system.

1 Guiyang Mobile 1860, Hengyang Mobile 1860, Beijing
Unicom 1001:Distributed signaling conversion
¡¡As a signaling conversion equipment, SPAS realizes both way conversion
between SS7 and PRA. 32E1x32E1 conversion is adopted by Guiyang Mobile.
Since SPAS single module consists of 56 E1 in distributive manner, they
can be scaled smoothly. SPAS can cascade up to4 modules to realize the
signaling conversion of large capacity.
¡¡Main module mainly deals with:
¡¡> Information processing at the No. 7 MTP layer processing of TUP
information and PRA information within this module
¡¡> Distribution of TUP information to sub-component via Ethernet
(100Base-T)
¡¡> Receiving information from other sub-module via the Ethernet interface
and sending it to the MTP layer
¡¡Sub-module mainly deals with:
¡¡> Receiving TUP information via Ethernet (100Base-T), carrying out
call handling, and transferring to PRA
¡¡> PRA call handling
¡¡> Transmitting the TUP information to the Ethernet interface to
be sent to remote end
¡¡Independent call handling and routing are realized in each sub-module.
Load balancing is achieved among the main MPU and the sub MPU, which
improves the call handling capabilities greatly.

2 A virtual telecom
operator: Virtual telecom operation business platform
¡¡SPAS programmable Switch connects with CISCO 3530 gateway, HARRIS switch,
and HuaweiCCO8 switch respectively. These switches belong to other operators
connected with this operator, and routings and cost of the operators
may be different. As a tandem switch, SPAS has 48 E1 and with PRA as
the connection signaling. The calling controller may communicate with
SPAS-2000 Switch via the programmable interface and control the flow,
routing, billing and other personalization value-added services.

3 A Telecom operator:Voice
conversion system between U LAW and A LAW
¡¡SPAS connects with the switches in Guangzhou and H.K. respectively,
both adopting PRA signaling. But T1 is used in H.K., E1 in Guangzhou.
U LAW is the voice codec for T1 voice channel, whereas A LAW is the
codec for E1. Apart from the PRA signaling conversion between E1 and
T1, SPAS-2000 programmable Switch needs to also realize the voice conversion
between U LAW and A LAW.
